Prof. Volkan Baltacı, MD, PhD

Medical Genetics Specialist & Founding Director • Medical Genetics & Reproductive Biotechnology

Prof. Dr. Volkan Baltacı is a specialist in medical and reproductive genetics with more than 30 years of clinical and academic experience. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1988 and completed his specialization in Medical Genetics in 1993. He became Associate Professor in 1999 and Professor in 2008, and earned a PhD in Toxicology in 2003. Since 1998, his work has focused on reproductive genetics, preimplantation genetic testing and prenatal diagnosis. He has performed more than 20,000 prenatal genetic diagnostic tests and has authored numerous national and international scientific publications. Prof. Baltacı gained international experience at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, USA, where he focused on reproductive genetics and preimplantation genetic diagnosis, and he has served as a faculty member at several universities. He is the founder of Gen-Art IVF and Reproductive Biotechnology Center, L.E.S. Mikrogen Genetic Diagnosis Center, and ZEUS Bioscience, bringing together clinical reproductive medicine, genetic diagnostics and biotechnology innovation. He is also actively involved in national and international professional organizations, including the Genetic Diseases Counseling Society, the Medical Genetics Association, the Turkish Society for Reproductive Health and Infertility, the Turkish Infertility Foundation, ESHRE and ASRM.

Surg. Aysun Baltacı, MD

Clinical Director & ART Unit Head

Dr. Aysun Baltacı serves as Clinical Director and ART Unit Head at Gen-Art IVF Center. Born in İskenderun in 1965, she completed her early and secondary education in Ankara and graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1989. She earned her specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at SSK Ankara Maternity Hospital in 1994. After completing her mandatory service in Erzurum, she went on to work at Fatih University Faculty of Medicine, Gölbaşı Maternal & Child Health Center, and Med ART Medical Center. In 2002 she completed her IVF training at Zekai Tahir Burak Maternity Hospital, and has been practicing in IVF and reproductive medicine ever since, with a total of 22 years of experience. Believing that babies are reflections of angels on earth, she finds deep meaning in following each pregnancy from a few-celled embryo through birth and beyond. The presence of healthy babies born with Gen-Art's help, across Türkiye and around the world, continues to give her strength and energy.

Surg. Sertaç Şen, MD

OB/GYN & IVF Clinical Specialist

Born in Kütahya in 1972, Op. Dr. Sertaç Şen graduated from Gülhane Military Medical Academy Faculty of Medicine in 1996. He completed his specialization in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the GATA OB/GYN Clinic, earning the title of Operating Physician in 2003, and completed his mandatory service at Erzurum Military Hospital in 2006. Between 2006 and 2008 he worked in the IVF Department of Özel Şifa Hospital in Erzurum, as part of the team that carried out the first IVF procedures in the Eastern Anatolia region. He completed his IVF training and ART certification at the Ankara University IVF clinic, and is a member of ASRM (American Society for Reproductive Medicine) and ESHRE (European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology), regularly attending their meetings. He has a particular focus on infertility treatment, genetics-supported IVF applications, and recurrent pregnancy loss. He has worked at Gen-Art IVF and Reproductive Biotechnology Center since 2009 — for many years as ART Unit Head, and currently continues his IVF practice alongside his role as Responsible Director of the center.

Mehmet Giray Özçam graduated from Galatasaray High School in 1978 and completed his medical degree at Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1984. Between 1987 and 1992 he trained in Anesthesiology and Reanimation at Türkiye Yüksek İhtisas Hospital.
